Joella, the Rottnweiler Service Dog

Joella picking up mail

Picture of Joella picking up the mail from the driveway. I am such a dang klutz.

Joella has a job. She is a Service Dog. That means she assists me with things that I cannot do because of my disability. Her primary job is to pick up items that I drop. She also gets things from lower shelves at stores, retrieves my shoes, carries items through a store or to the truck, and she is learning to go get assistance.

What makes Joella unique? Not much really. There are many other Joellas out there. Dogs who were trained by their owners to be Service Dogs. The dogs come in all breeds, sizes, and uses. There is Marley, a beagle; Dharma, the Leonburger; Shelby, the German Shepherd mix. The list goes on and on.
